Altenew Educator Program – Level 1

Hey! I’m onto the final challenge for the first level of the Altenew Educator Program! My challenge was to create a card using three techniques I learned from the class. I chose to showcase Shine, Easy Die-cutting, and Clean and Simple.

First, I decided to make the bottom layer. I stamped out the biggest flower image onto the Neenah cardstock and then stamped the same image on a sticky note. I cut out the sticky note and placed it on top of my flower so I could move on stamping other flowers.

I repeated this step until I got a layout I was pleased with. Here’s an image of what it looks like before I colored.

Then I started coloring with my Copics.

After coloring, I used my Wink of Stella pen and colored various places on the card to add some SHINE! I chose the small flowers and the centers of the big flowers but really- you could do it wherever you like!

Then I started die-cutting the “HELLO”. I lined up the dies and taped over them with some post-it note tape. Using post-it note tape or washi tape is the best technique so it doesn’t leave behind any residue or tear your paper.

Then, I used foam tape so it would give my card a little more dimension.

To finish it off I added some sequins and sprayed it over with some iridescent glitter spray! I wish the glitter spray would show up a little better because it looks absolutely stunning!

The inspiration for this card is Hawaii! I’m in need of a tropical vacation asap!
